Edwin was born in Glasgow and was interested in drawing from an early age. 

Initially he had a career at sea but all the time painting and sketching his travels.  Back ashore he worked in the hotel industry for a time before becoming the scene painter at Glasgow's Citizens Theatre. His talent was recognised and he was encouraged to go further with his art.  He was enrolled at the Glasgow School of Art as a mature student and completed his degree in fine art.  Since then he has been painting full time. 

He mainly works in acrylic or pastel producing landscapes, townscapes and marine scenes.
